Have you read bell hooks’ All About Love: New Visions? It makes a world of sense to me. In it, hooks attributes her working definition of love to Scott Peck, who said love is “the will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth.” After Fuzzy died, I was fortunate to be on the receiving end of a lot of that kind of love.
But that is not a type of love celebrated very often in song. So I took a stab at it.
Here’s a track from our new album, “Bottomless Deep.” It is a duet; the other singer is our pal Liza Kate. I think Ben’s guitar playing is ... heavenly. We’re not planning to release or promote “Bottomless Deep” as a single but I wanted you to hear it now, before the album comes out. Basically, this one’s just for you.
Thanks Tim and Humans, for giving me even more air time.
I’m proud of us 🤍
What a lovely song. Your voices mesh so well, and the understated fiddling really supports the whole delicate piece.
