Hi.
We’re switching the email service we use to stay in touch. Going forward, we’ll be contacting you through our new band newsletter, Greater Humanity, which is hosted on Substack.
Why the change?
I recently published a commentary in Style Weekly describing how current music industry models are making it increasingly difficult for bands like TB&TH to afford the recording and distribution of their music. I genuinely hope you’ll give it a read—it’s stuff that most musicians know but which fans may appreciate hearing about. If you read it and like it, I hope you’ll share the link with friends.
Because the old norms of the music business are dying (or dead), we’re interested in trying something different, a “band subscription” model. For now, Greater Humanity will be free. News like show dates and album releases will always remain free. But in time, we’ll offer a paid subscription option with additional features. We hope to fund the recording, manufacturing, and distribution of our future records this way.
If you’d like to opt-out of receiving these emails, you can find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of this message. You won’t hurt our feelings—we don’t want to spam anyone. On the other hand, if you’d like to share this missive with someone, there’s a button below for that, too.
More soon!
